There can be no doubt that Dakota State University has a rich history. Thousands of our alumni can attest to the difference that this university made in their lives. I have heard the wonderful stories and the memories of time spent at Eastern Normal, General Beadle, DSC or DSU. I strongly believe that there is no better way to honor history than to insure the future.

DSU 2.0 is about the future. It symbolizes the incredible progress, growth and dynamic change that have taken place at the university. It acknowledges the mission change that transformed the curriculum and the place of our campus in the state, region and nation. 2.0 indicates the next step, the next version, the next set of memories and experiences.

Through this campaign a whole new generation of students will understand what it means to be on a campus with 130+ years of history. Students at DSU will attend an English class in the refurbished Beadle Hall or Tunheim Classroom Building and then walk a short distance to the most modern, state-of-the-art information technology building in the country. Student-athletes will sharpen their skills indoors in the middle of January. Those same students will be on scholarships that have helped to support their drive for a life-changing education. It is a "dream" of the future. It is the 2.0 version of the Dakota State University we are all proud of.

To everyone who is considering being a part of this dream, I hope you will take a moment to close your eyes and then imagine waking up to the reality of this DSU 2.0. We need your help, your commitment, your enthusiasm, your energy and your support.
